Ever since his first spring practice, Matt Campbell has been trying to manufacture chaos. The new Iowa State head coach has been throwing curveballs at his offense and defense in the hope of figuring out how his players respond to adversity and sudden change.
On Sunday, the chaos became a bit more real. Starting left tackle Jake Campos, by far the Cyclones’ most experienced lineman, went down with a leg injury that could cost him his season.
To put that loss in perspective: Campos has made 23 career starts; the rest of the team's offensive linemen have combined for one career start.
