The process of building a defensive line is a step-by-step process, and for West Virginia assistant coach Bruce Tall, the returns on his teaching have been good through the first week of Mountaineer football camp this fall.
West Virginia defensive line coach Bruce Tall has always been known as a technician, and his approach hasn't changed in his second term as the Mountaineer defensive line coach. The 32-year coaching veteran previously taught Mountaineer safeties from 2003-07, but has taken over the men up front in his second coaching stint at WVU. He's drawing on his most recent experience at Michigan (2008-10) and Charlotte (2011-14) where he worked with the D-Line while also coordinating the entire defense for the 49ers.
