It's great to see Iowa State do right by Dan McCarney. The former Cyclones head coach will be inducted into the Iowa State Hall of Fame in September, the school announced Monday.
It's a well-deserved honor for a man who led Iowa State to five bowl games in 12 seasons, left as the winningest coach in school history and gave the program new hope.
“I’m really appreciative and I’m going to get ahold of everyone on the selection committee and thank them,” McCarney told the Des Moines Register.
This news comes a month after Iowa State announced McCarney is coming back to be the keynote speaker at new head coach Matt Campbell's coaches clinic in April.
