Cameron Batson leading the race to replace Jakeem Grant

One of the bigger storylines in Texas Tech's spring football drills is the battle to replace No. 1 target Jakeem Grant in the Red Raider offense. Grant was a defensive coaches nightmare on his way to 90 receptions for 1,268 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior.

Junior receiver Cameron Batson could be in line to step into Grant's spot in 2016, writes Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche Journal.

"It's Cam's job to lose right now," offensive coordinator Eric Morris told Williams last week.

Batson had a solid season in a backup role as a sophomore, finishing with 40 targets for 29 receptions, 327 yards and one touchdown.
