Welcome back to the weekly Big 12 stat crunch, where we're taking a deeper statistical look at what's going on in the conference. Three things that stand out going into Kickoff Week:

1. How the new QBs fared

Texas, TCU, and Kansas State all unveiled new starting quarterbacks last weekend. Shane Buechele and Kenny Hill shined in operating their high-speed offenses, while Jesse Ertz showed flashes against a stout Stanford defense.

Add up all his passing and rushing attempts and Buechele averaged a whopping 10.1 yards per play, and the help he'll get from Tyrone Swoopes going forward is invaluable.
