The Big 12 is in trouble. Its two unbeatens, Baylor and Oklahoma State, still find themselves on the outside looking in after the second edition of the College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday.
No. 6 Baylor won on the road with a true freshman quarterback making his first start and still got jumped by Iowa. Oklahoma State got a terrific boost from No. 14 to No. 8 following its 20-point win over then-No. 8 TCU but still has to hope for help. Oklahoma is hovering at No. 12, ready to pounce on any losses above them, but remains saddled with a loss to a Texas squad that looks hopeless at times.
