2015 season review: Disappointing season, but new hope for Iowa State

The 2015 season brought the end of an era at Iowa State yet could be remembered as a defining moment for the program.

Paul Rhoads was let go after seven seasons in Ames, finishing 32-55 while in charge of the Cyclones. Even at 3-9, Iowa State was clearly an improved outfit -- all nine of its losses came to teams that finished at .500 or better, including four to teams that won double-digit games (Iowa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU) in 2015 -- but the final results didn’t show it and Rhoads paid with his job. The Cyclones have tabbed former Toledo coach Matt Campbell to turn things around.
