The ACC is in an interesting position. It schedules well out of conference, but it is in conference where the chedule lacks the competitiveness necessary to elevate multiple teams into elite level conversations. As Florida State proved last year when the committee ranked them third, in order for an ACC champion to be considered for the playoffs, they have to be undefeated. And that was for defending national champion Florida State. The BCS era is no more.
This is going to be a tough hill to climb for the ACC because the majority of the schools it chose for expansion were not football centric schools.
