This weekend is the Final Four in both men's and women's basketball. Both Baylor programs reached the second weekend of the NCAA tournament but came up short in their bids to reach the national semifinals and eventually win a championship.
But of all the Baylor athletic programs, which is closest to winning a national championship? The women's acrobatics and tumbling team has won consecutive championships entering the 2017 season but only competes against 17 other schools nationally. So what about the bigger programs?
The best candidate is the women's basketball program. The team lost in the national quarterfinals this year and loses two seniors in Alexis Jones and Alexis Prince who are likely first-round picks in the next month's WNBA draft.
