Former Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman's attorneys filed a motion last week to withdraw from his sexual assault case, the Waco Tribune-Herald's Tommy Witherspoon reported. Attorneys Russ Hunt and Michelle Tuegel filed the motion to remove themselves from the upcoming case because Oakman has not paid them, Judge Ralph Strother told the Tribune-Herald.
Once considered a top prospect for the NFL draft, Oakman was accused of sexually assaulting a Baylor graduate student at his Waco home in April, 2016. He told police that the sex was consensual. Oakman was indicted on the charge in July and is currently free on $50,000 bond.
