Elite athleticism is easy to spot. It's a combination of size, speed and explosiveness that's just different than most.
Coaches at Sachse High School saw it in Anthony Anyanwu during a physical education class.
"One [of our coaches] saw him turn around and slam a basketball," said Sachse head coach Red Behrens, "and we said, 'He’s probably pretty athletic.'"
Athletic enough to not only to earn a spot on Sachse's defense, but enough to open the eyes of college recruiters, too.
On Wednesday, months after finishing his first football season, Anyanwu announced his commitment to Baylor, just over 24 hours after he was offered by them.
