MOUNT VERNON - There's not many secrets in a town of less than 2,800. People know each other. Many grow up there and stay there. Rumors fly, except for the bombshell that hit Mount Vernon on Friday evening.
The Briscoe family, like many other people in Mount Vernon, spent the Friday evening of Memorial Day weekend preparing for the high school's graduation. It started at 8 p.m., so a pre-graduation dinner party made sense.
