Former Baylor star Isaiah Austin cleared to play basketball again following his Marfan's Syndrome diagnosis

Former Baylor star Isaiah Austin announced on Instagram Wednesday that he is cleared by doctors to play basketball again. Austin was forced to put his dream of playing professional basketball on hold before the 2014 draft after he was diagnosed with Marfan's Syndrome.

It appeared Austin's professional career was over before it even begun when he was diagnosed with the rare connective tissue disorder as well as an abnormally large heart. Presumed to be a draft pick after named to the Big 12 All-Defensive team in his sophomore season, the 7-foot-1 Austin was "drafted" by the NBA in a touching ceremony at the NBA draft in 2014.
