Did Chris Beard get an official explanation on late flagrant foul call in Texas Tech loss? Maybe: 'I wasn't in a great mindset'

Any chance of Texas Tech rallying for a road win Saturday over Baylor disappeared when Brandone Francis was assessed a flagrant foul for fouling Baylor's Freddie Gillespie with 1:55 remaining.

Gillespie, a transfer from Division III Carleton, was headed for an apparent dunk when Francis fouled him from behind. Officials called it a flagrant one upon review, setting up a four-point Tech possession and a nine-point lead in an eventual 73-62 win.

"I thought it was a basketball play," Tech coach Chris Beard said, mildly protesting. "I don't have the benefit to going and looking at it, but I thought Brandone made a play.
