The day after winning the national championship against Notre Dame, the Baylor women's basketball team got more good news.
Junior Lauren Cox, who suffered a left knee injury during the championship game, will not require surgery, according to a release from the university's athletic department.
According to the release, Cox suffered an MCL sprain with bone bruising and that there is no timetable for her return.
Cox exited the championship game in the third quarter with eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
On the season, Cox averaged 13 points on 52 percent shooting from the floor and a team-high 8.
