As Big 12 tournament begins, there's far more than a trophy at stake for Baylor women's basketball

Ever since a December loss at Stanford, Baylor has been rolling through its opponents.

If the Lady Bears (28-1) are able to take care of business in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship beginning Friday in Oklahoma City, there will be more than just a trophy waiting.

Twice in early NCAA bracket reveals by the selection committee, Baylor has been the No. 1 overall seed. A championship would be enough for the Lady Bears to be atop the bracket on March 18 when the field is announced.

Baylor opens on Saturday against the winner of Oklahoma (8-21) and Texas Tech (13-16).
