After losing three starters in offseason, Baylor hopes No. 1 recruiting class grows up quickly

With half of her 12-person squad comprising freshmen and a graduate transfer, Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey says it's been quite some time since she's had to teach this many newcomers, let alone all at the same time.

Luckily for Mulkey, she has one of the nation's top frontcourt duos in senior Kalani Brown and junior Lauren Cox to lead the way for Baylor, the preseason Big 12 favorite, winners of eight-straight regular-season titles and champions of eight of the last 10 Big 12 Tournaments.

"Those two kids are as good of players as you'll find in the country, and especially two that play together," Mulkey said.
