1. A legendary coach

Head coach Bill Snyder, now in his 27th season with Kansas State, is best known for being the architect of the greatest turnaround in the history of college football.

When he took over Kansas State in 1989, the Wildcats were on a 27-game winless streak. After a 17-16 record through his first three seasons, Snyder led Kansas State to a 9-2 record and a win in the Cotton Bowl over Wyoming in 1993. That was the first of 11 straight bowl appearances, which Kansas had a 6-5 record to show for.
