Baylor will face Team X in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Here are five takeaways from the Bears earning the tournament bid:
1. Bears limp into the tournament: Baylor still earned a berth to the NCAA tournament despite ending the season on a four-game losing streak. However, the Bears were likely given bonus points for playing most of Big 12 conference play without star center Tristan Clark and the last month or so with a hobbled Makai Mason.
2. Did early Big 12 tournament exit beneficial?: In their loss to Iowa State, the Bears looked winded and Mason didn't look like he was playing at 100 percent.
