“Iron sharpens iron.”

That phrase is used almost daily around the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills.

What does it mean? Basically, that competition is key. That’s a mindset that is instilled in Ravens players from day one. From front office staff to coaches to players they are constantly encouraged to get better daily.

Prior to the Ravens’ throttling of the Dolphins, much had been made about the offense’s conservative play calling in the second half of their Week 12 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Quarterback Joe Flacco made mention of his conversation with coordinator Marty Mornhinweg about the lack of staying aggressive to put teams away.
