Yesterday I watched “The Dreamer”, the latest Dave Chappelle standup comedy act on Netflix. Chappelle covers a wide range of topics but his central point, hence the title, is that he is a self-professed “powerful dreamer” and encourages his audience to realize their dreams and then live them because that’s how he got to where he is.
Chappelle is a DC native and is familiar with Baltimore. There’s a segment during the routine when he throws shade on Charm City. I didn’t take offense to it. The things he said about the inherent dangers of living in our town are unfortunately true.
