Several outlets are reporting that New York Giants defensive end -- and Deerfield Beach High graduate -- Jason Pierre-Paul sustained a 'severe' hand injury in a fireworks mishap on Saturday night.
The reports were accompanied by a tweet that purported to show a U-Haul van loaded with fireworks that Pierre-Paul had purchased.
Another tweet said he had been treated at North Broward Medical Center.
The 15th overall selection by the Giants in the 2010 NFL draft, the two-time Pro Bowl selection and Super Bowl XLVI champion has 42 sacks in his 75 career games.
