Ravens' Jimmy Smith expected to miss four to six weeks from foot procedure

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith will have screws removed from his surgically repaired right foot this week and will need four to six weeks to recover, a team source said Friday.

Smith will likely miss most of the spring offseason workouts but he could participate in a minicamp in June, the source said. Smith is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in late July, the source added.

Smith suffered a season-ending Lisfranc foot injury 16 months ago and underwent surgery in November 2014. At the team's offseason workout program earlier this month, Smith said he hoped this wasn't a two-year injury.
