Ravens place rookie OLB Daelin Hayes on injured reserve

On Monday rookie outside linebacker Daelin Hayes became the 15th player that the Baltimore Ravens have placed on injured reserve, a league-high. He made his regular-season debut on Sunday in the team’s miraculous 19-17 win over the Detroit Lions but had his homecoming to the Motor City cut short by an ankle injury in the first quarter.

The Ravens selected Hayes in the fifth round of this year’s draft out of Notre Dame and he was inactive for the first two games of the season. While the team didn’t divulge whether his injury was season-ending or not, all players placed on injured reserve after the final roster is finalized are eligible to return after three weeks.
