Ravens News 9/8: Clowney nearly became a Raven, Lamar’s obsession and more

In a nutshell, a sign and trade between the Jags and Ravens would’ve allowed Baltimore to remain under the cap while acquiring the veteran pass-rusher. With just a projected amount of over $11.2 million available in cap space, the Ravens couldn’t afford Clowney and wanted the Jags to absorb some of this salary (likely the signing bonus) in exchange for draft compensation. The Jags, on the other hand, could’ve easily done that with a projected amount of $26.6 million in available cap space, per Over the Cap.

If you were to go to Lamar Jackson’s house, you wouldn’t find his MVP trophy, nor his Heisman trophy.
