Ozzie Newsome scholars program announced, set to help Baltimore City Public Schools graduates who attend HBCUs

Longtime Ravens' personnel executive and Pro Football Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome will be honored by Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti and his wife, Renee, with a $4 million gift in his name to Historically Black Colleges and Universities in Maryland.

The Ozzie Newsome Scholars Program will give a gift of $1 million to each Maryland HBCU: Bowie State University, Coppin State University, Morgan State University, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, funded through the Renee Bisciotti Foundation.

This program will begin in the 2022-23 school year and each Maryland HBCU will select five Baltimore City Public School graduates who will attend a Maryland HBCU as Ozzie Newsome Scholars for its incoming freshman class each spring.
