The timing of the NFL schedule as it relates to Veterans Day is a little odd this year, with Veterans Day falling on a Tuesday, which is, of course, a non-gameday. The NFL did do their Salute to Service games this past weekend, as they wouldn’t get another chance to recognize the military until the following Thursday Night Football matchup, so it seems like they figured it’s better to be early than to be late. Before we jump into the stories from this past weekend, I want to pause and acknowledge the occasion. I come from a veteran family, and in my full-time job, I work every day with service members, veterans, and their families.
