Halfway through the 2019 season, the Patriots have one of the best defenses in the NFL. In terms of yards per game, they rank 2nd against the pass, 4th against the run and 2nd overall. They also lead the league in both sacks and interceptions. While they’ve certainly played an exceptionally weak schedule full of backup QBs and subpar RBs, the recent talk of the 2019 Patriots defense belonging with some of the greatest defenses in NFL history is not entirely overblown.
