It took the Ravens one half to deeply miss Nnamdi Madubuike

The Baltimore Ravens knew coming into Week 3 that they would have some problems replacing defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike. The two-time Pro Bowler missed Monday night’s game with a neck injury, and his absence could not have been more obvious after just one half.

Baltimore could not stop Detroit’s potent offense in the early going. In their opening drive, quarterback Jared Goff did whatever he wanted through the air. He had a clean pocket in the team’s first possession, slinging the rock for multiple splash plays, including 24-yard and 19-yard completions to wide receiver Jameson Williams.

Defensive Coordinator Zach Orr has attempted to send defensive backs and linebackers to make Goff uncomfortable, but even those blitzes have proven ineffective.
