Gritty linebacker Jarret Johnson retires as a Raven

Surrounded by his former coaches and general manager Ozzie Newsome, gritty veteran linebacker Jarret Johnson retired with the Ravens during a news conference Wednesday at team headquarters.

"This is an honor for me to be sitting here with so many faces that have meant so much to me throughout my career," said Johnson, whose mother, wife and two daughters attended the announcement. "On the plane ride, I was thinking about what I was going to say. When I got here, I met Kelly Gregg and Marques Douglas and Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs and Ed Reed and Adalius Thomas, I can go on and on and on.
