Draft picks become more important than ever for Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens want to sign quarterback Lamar Jackson to a long-term deal, so there is even more of an emphasis for the team to get the NFL Draft done right.

Assuming a deal gets done with Jackson, the Ravens will have less money in the salary cap, which means making the most of the players when they cost less, when they are on rookie deals.

The Joe Flacco era was, at its best, before he signed a nine-figure contract. How much of that goes directly to the $120 million deal, one can't say for sure, and the team was quite good in 2014, post rookie deal.
