The injury bug has hit Baltimore’s secondary.
Top cornerback Jimmy Smith left Sunday’s game against the Chiefs in the first quarter because of thigh injury and he was quickly ruled out for the rest of the day.
Smith was injured as he chased after running back Charcandrick West on his 38-yard touchdown. West outran him to the end zone, and Smith limped off the field and went right to the medical staff. They took him to the locker room and he was ruled out a few minutes later.
With Smith out, the Ravens have turned to recently promoted second-year cornerback Jumal Rolle to take on a bigger role in the defense.
