Ravens QB Joe Flacco Tears ACL, Out For Remainder Of Season

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the St. Louis Rams 16-13 on Sunday, but they suffered a major blow in the process as quarterback Joe Flacco suffered a torn ACL and possibly a torn MCL that will end his 2015 season.

Head coach John Harbaugh announced Flacco's injury shortly after Baltimore's win, confirming fears that the veteran QB was seriously hurt after having his leg rolled over during the team's game-winning drive late in Sunday's contest. Flacco stayed in and finished the game despite visibly being in an enormous amount of pain.

"It was a courageous effort by Joe at the end," Harbaugh said.

Flacco limped noticeably during the game's final plays, but it was not for naught as kicker Justin Tucker drove home a 47-yard field goal to ice the game for Baltimore.

The 30-year-old QB hasn't missed a game since entering the league back in 2008. He came into the game with the third-longest consecutive games streak for quarterbacks behind Eli Manning and Philip Rivers. Now, he'll be replaced by backup Matt Schaub for the remainder of the 2015 campaign.

The Ravens also lost running back Justin Forsett on Sunday after the team's lead HB suffered a broken arm. Forsett sustained the injury after Rams DT Aaron Donald burst through the Baltimore offensive line and threw Forsett to the ground.
