Orioles first baseman Chris Davis seemed to turn the corner on his second-half slump Sunday afternoon in Chicago when he hit his first home run since the All-Star break and reached base in four of five plate appearances in the Orioles’ 10-2 mauling of the White Sox.
But since that game, Davis has looked lost. He is 0-for-8 in the Orioles’ first two games in Oakland, both one-run losses, and is now 9-for-76 with 32 strikeouts in 22 games since the break. Davis has just one homer and three RBIs over that span, and has become the poster boy for the Orioles’ offensive struggles in the second half.
