It is now 71 days from Opening Day. Two relatively recent players donned uniform number 71. Local sensation L.J. Hoes wore it in 2012, and relief pitcher Oliver Drake used it from 2015-2017. According to Baseball Reference, Drake’s nickname is Bucko. Okay. I always called him The Admiral.
We are also 27 days from pitchers and catchers reporting for spring training. I feel like a broken record here, but time is getting short for the Orioles to, you know, do something.
