Westminster senior Brandon Martin pitched six solid innings Tuesday, then turned a game-ending double play from shortstop to help the No. 11 Owls beat host South Carroll, 3-2, in baseball.
"At first, I thought I was going to have to dive, and then I realized it was coming right to me," Martin said. "I'm not going to lie: I was pretty lucky. I just kind of threw my glove at it, ended up coming with it. I was like, 'Oh, get rid of it.' Thank God we were able to turn it, because it almost broke my heart.
