That’s no guarantee, though, because it could be that either Astros-Yankees at 4:08 or Cardinals-Nationals at 8:05 will end in an undesirable outcome. With the Cardinals getting smoked again last night, they could get swept, making today the last day with two games.
Today is Jim Palmer’s birthday, a fact noteworthy enough for this special mention before we get to the usual birthday segment. The only pitcher to win a World Series game in three different decades turns 74 today.
