Trey Mancini will make his second straight start in right field Tuesday afternoon against a Tampa Bay Rays split squad at Ed Smith Stadium, his crash-course adjustment to the outfield continuing one day after playing his first game there since 2011.
Before Monday, Mancini -- a first baseman by trade -- hadn’t played the outfield in a game since 2011 in college summer ball after his freshman season at Notre Dame.
He did not have a fly ball hit right to him in the Orioles’ 6-4 Grapefruit League win over the Philadelphia Phillies, but he chased down several balls in right field.
