Thursday Bird Droppings: Progress towards a 2020 season deal

Hello, friends.

In the parallel universe where everyone is exactly the same as this one except that the baseball season was able to go on unimpeded, the Orioles would have played in 74 games by now. Instead, well, you know. It’s looking likely that there will be fewer than 74 games played in the 2020 season.

The good news is that yesterday appears to have seen something of a breakthrough in the impasse that has been caused by ownership greed. An MLB-released statement indicated that the commissioner and MLBPA boss Tony Clark have “a jointly developed framework that we agreed could form the basis of an agreement.
