It caught me by surprise to see Caleb Joseph lose it Monday afternoon in the eighth inning after striking out with the bases loaded.
Joseph is as passionate about baseball as almost anyone I’ve ever covered. And when he slammed his bat down and then broke the bat over his knee, it was a show of raw emotion that I know many fans like to see from a struggling club.
Really, I have no problem with it. Sure, it may not be the best example for kids learning the game, but it wasn’t like he was complaining about the strike zone or an umpire’s call.
