Orioles first baseman Chris Davis, by virtue of the $161 million contract he was awarded last offseason, is meant to set the franchise’s standard on the field. Tied for the team lead with five home runs and 11 RBIs entering Thursday’s game, he’s certainly doing that in the run-production department.
It’s another category — his team-leading 11 walks — that shows how he’s pacing these Orioles in a way they see as just as important.
“I think it’s a good thing, and I think it’s not just something that I’m doing,” Davis said.
