The Baltimore Orioles and Major League Baseball have officially downgraded the Frederick Keys.
The Keys, the Orioles' former high A affiliate, are one of dozens of minor league teams nationwide set to lose their affiliations with major league clubs. However, in making the announcement on Wednesday, the Orioles stated their intent to continue to work with the community to bring the new MLB Draft League to Frederick.
The Draft League is the first league in the country focused on top prospects who are eligible for the draft. It will begin play next year.
