The man who has been touted as having had an easier time in the American League than the Double-A Eastern League last season, Orioles reliever Mychal Givens, is experiencing his first rough patch in the major leagues.
Givens was charged with two runs on three hits and a hit batsman in 1 1/3 innings Monday on Opening Day, then allowed a solo home run in the sixth inning Wednesday to Minnesota Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe.
He’s still striking out batters at a high clip, with three in two innings after striking out 38 in 30 major league innings last season.
