Orioles Non-Tender Pitcher Vance Worley

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Vance Worley is now a free-agent.

The Orioles announced Friday they opted not to tender the arbitration-eligible reliever and occasional starter a contract. They did tender contracts to their other nine eligible players, including pitchers Brad Brach, Zach Britton, Kevin Gausman, T.J. McFarland and Chris Tillman and position players Ryan Flaherty, Caleb Joseph, Manny Machado and Jonathan Schoop.

The move was widely expected after the Orioles acquired former Rule 5 pick Logan Verrett, a right-hander, from the New York Mets. In 35 appearances (including four starts in 2016, Worley pitched to a 3.53 ERA in 86.
