Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but none of the Tides pitchers looked good today. Dean Kremer was passable in a short two-inning outing, with one run and three hits allowed. But Blaine Knight (3.1 IP, 5 R, 7.64 ERA) was ineffective, as he has been so far at Norfolk. Claudio Custodio allowed one unearned run, but Adam Plutko allowed two runs in one inning and Nick Vespi allowed two more.
The Tides scored four runs on three long balls, one apiece from Jahmai Jones (2-for-3 with 2 RBI), Tyler Nevin (2-for-3 with a walk) and Mason McCoy (1-for-4 with an RBI).
