The Tides won in dramatic fashion on Friday, securing a walk-off win at home in the 10th inning. Norfolk went into the bottom of the ninth down by a run, but Austin Wynns worked a bases loaded walk to tie the score at six. An inning later, Rio Ruiz came up with a clutch single to drive home the winning run.
Ruiz was 3-for-5 in the game with three RBIs and Ryan Mountcastle was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Shortstop Jack Reinheimer was 1-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored. Austin Hays was only 1-for-5 at the plate but he got his first stolen base of the year.
