Orioles minor league recap 8/1: Vimael Machín makes his case for playing time

Kyle Brnovich surrendered four runs in the top of the first, and the Tides never recovered. After a wild first, Brnovich returned for the second inning and proceeded to walk the bases loaded. Preston Johnson entered and recorded the final out of the inning to keep Brnovich’s line at 1.2 IP, 3 hits, 4 ER and 6 walks.

Levi Stoudt and Cionel Pérez both tossed a pair of scoreless innings. Pérez struggled in Baltimore this season, but he could provide some much needed experience to a now depleted Baltimore bullpen sometime soon.

Vimael Machín attempted to bring the Tides back with a solo homer in the second and an RBI single in the third.
