Norfolk rallied with runs in the seventh and eighth to come away with the home victory. Charlotte scored two runs in the top of the first, but Norfolk shutout the Knights for the remainder of the contest.
John Means gutted through seven innings, and kept Charlotte in check after the first. He struck out six, allowed five hits and walked only one batter. Tim Melville picked up the win in relief, and Jhan Marinez earned his 10th save with a scoreless ninth.
DJ Stewart plated Cedric Mullins with a sacrifice fly in the seventh, and Renato Nunez drove in Joey Rickard to give the Tides the lead in the eighth.
