Orioles minor league recap 7/29: Adley singles! Twice!

Not a glowing Triple-A debut for Bruce Zimmerman, who’d been stellar this season—5-3 with a 2.58 ERA in 17 starts—with Double-A Bowie. The IronPigs roughed him up for 10 hits and 5 runs in 4 innings to saddle him with an unsightly 11.25 ERA in his first start. He only walked two, though! Another recent arrival from Bowie, Pedro Araujo was even worse in relief, allowing 8 hits—including 3 home runs—and 6 runs in 3 innings of work. Ouch. Josh Lucas, who’s had a roller coaster season between here and the bigs, pitched a scoreless inning.

The good news, such as it was, was that Norfolk racked up nine hits in this lopsided effort.
