The Tides got shellacked by the IronPigs on Friday night, with left-hander Keegan Akin taking the loss. He gave up three runs over three innings, allowing five hits while walking two batters and striking out two. On the year, Akin now has a 4.66 ERA and 1.54 WHIP. The next two pitchers in the game, Luis Ysla and Matt Wotherspoon, gave up five and three runs, respectively.
On offense, first baseman Ryan Mountcastle was 2-for-4 and accounted for both of the Tides’ runs scored. The only other Norfolk players in the lineup with a hit were Jesus Sucre and Christopher Bostick, the latter of whom also had a stolen base.
